On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, when the work of writing the Mahabharata was completed, the body of Ganesh ji had become dead. Due to not moving at all, dust and soil had settled on his body. Then Ganesha took a bath in the Saraswati river and cleansed his body. Therefore, the establishment of Ganpati is done for 10 days and then the idol of Ganesha is immersed.
Right time for immersion of Ganpati ji before ten days
If you cannot keep Bappa at home for 10 days, then on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi or after one and a half days, after three days, after five days, or on the seventh day, you do the ritual immersion of Ganapati. It also gives the same auspicious result as immersion on the day of Anant Chaturthi.
