Kaliyadeh Palace

Kaliyadeh Palace is situated in the form of an island in the river Kshipra, 6 miles north of Ujjain. Before the arrival of the Muslims, it was known as "Brahmakund". In this, arrangements were made to fill the river water in many tanks and drop it in the form of thin streams on the engraved stones from a height of say 20 feet. Due to this, the platform built above the river remained cool. Small chhatris and other structures have been added to the building later, especially in the Mughal period.
