Chaitra Navratri starts from Chaitra Pratipada Tithi and continues on Navami Tithi. This year Chaitra Navratri will start from 22nd March till 30th March. Ghatasthapana will take place on March 22 and Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 30.

Ghatasthapana Muhurta, method, and rules: -
Chaitra Navratri 2023 date Chaitra Shukla Pratipada date starts 21 March 2023, night 10.52 Chaitra Shukla Pratipada date ends 22 March 2023, 08.20 night It is an auspicious time. Sadhak will get 01.10 minutes for Ghatasthapana. By doing Ghatasthapana on the first day of Chaitra Navratri, 9 days of worship become fruitful.
In Puranas, Kalash or Ghat Sthapana is considered a symbol of happiness-prosperity, splendor, opulence, and auspicious wishes. It is believed that all the planets, constellations, pilgrimages, Tridev, rivers, and 33 crore deities reside in the Kalash. At the time of Navratri, the powers present in the universe are invoked in the ghat and they are put to work. This destroys all the harmful waves in the house and happiness, peace and prosperity prevails in the house.
Ghatasthapana method in Navratri:-

• In an auspicious time for Ghatasthapana, put the holy soil of the field in an earthen vessel and sow seven types of grains in it. Also, sow barley in an earthen pot.
• Cleanse by sprinkling Gangajal in the northeast. Spread a red cloth on the Pooja Chowki and place a picture of Maa Durga on it.
• Now make 3 swastikas with kumkum on a copper or clay urn and fill it with Ganges water or clean water and put coin, intact betel nut, pair of gloves, and durva grass in it. Tie Molly on the mouth of the Kalash and cover it with a lid.
• Tie red chunri on the coconut with molly. Put 5 mango leaves in the urn, fill the lid with rice, and place this coconut in the middle of the urn.
• Now place the vessel containing barley and the urn on the right side of the photo of Maa Durga. Invoke Maa Durga after completing the Kalash Sthapana.
Ghatasthapana Mantra:-
Om Aa Jighra Kalashan Mahya Twa Vishantvindavah. Punarurja ni Vartasva sa na: Sahasran Dhukshvorudhara Payaswati Punarma Vishtadayah.
Mantra for placing coconut on Kalash:-
Om yaḥ faliniriya afla apushpa yascha pushpiniḥ. Brihaspatiprasutasta no munchantva hasah.
Mantra for sowing Saptadhan:-
Om dhaanyamasi dhinuhi devan pranaya tyo danaya tva vyanaya tva. Long live Prasitimayushe Dhan Devo Vah Savita Hiranyapani: Prati Gribhnatvachhidren Panina Chakshushe Twa Monthan Payo'si.

First day: March 22, Kalash Sthapana, worship of Maa Shailputri
