Lord Shiva's 8 Putra
Lord Shiva's 8 Putra: The majority of us are familiar with Lord Shiva's two sons, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, but the Hindu Puranas also list his additional five sons. Sons are brought up. Before beginning any auspicious task, Lord Ganesha is worshipped. After marrying Mata Parvati, Lord Shankar began a family, and eight boys were born throughout his lifetime as a result of various events. which we'll explain in today's piece. Thus, let's find out who the seven sons of Lord Shiva are.
1. Kartikeya
A Shivpuran
event claims that after Mother Sati passed away, Lord Shiva began a strict
penance regimen. By that point, Tarakasura's tyranny over the planet had begun
to spread. The gods went to Brahma ji to inquire about Tarakasura's release
after learning of his crimes. The gods were informed by Lord Brahma that
Tarakasura would be defeated by the son of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
Following this, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati got married, and Lord Kartikeya,
the couple's first child, was born, putting an end to the Tarakasura demon.
2. Ganesha
According to
the Puranas, Mother Parvati was ready to take a bath when she realized there
was no one to watch the entrance. Therefore, she made a child out of a mixture
of sandalwood and asked them to watch the door till Lord Shankar arrived. The
boy, therefore, prevented them from entering. Shiva, furious, cut off the
child's head and torso. When Mother Parvati learned of this, she became
furious. In order to appease her, Lord Shankar joined the elephant's head to
the child's trunk, and as a result, Lord Ganesha was created.
3. Sukesh
The third child
of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati is Sukesh. The Puranas tell that Rakshasa Raj
Hati wed a woman by the name of Bhaya. They both gave birth to a son they
called Vidyutkesh. Sandhakantaka, Sandhya's daughter, was a wicked wife who
Vidyutkesh married. Because of this, when his son was born, he abandoned him in
the outside world. Balak was given parental care by Lord Shiva and Mother
Parvati.
4. Jalandhar
The Bhagavata
Purana that Lord Shiva had a son by the name of Jalandhar. The Shrimadmadevi
Bhagwat Purana states that Jalandhar was created when Lord Shiva once cast his
splendor into the ocean. It is thought that Jalandhar's wife Vrinda was the
source of his enormous power. Even united, the gods and goddesses could not
destroy Jalandhar because of Vrinda's pativrata faith. Jalandhar intended to
overthrow Vishnu and wrest Goddess Lakshmi away from him. So Vishnu destroyed
the faith of Vrinda's husband. Shiva killed Jalandhar because Vrinda's
husband's religion had been compromised.
