Mother's departure vehicle: - This year the mother will also go back on an elephant. Actually Vijayadashami is on Wednesday and whenever Vijayadashami falls on Wednesday or Friday, the mother goes back on the elephant's vehicle.

During the 9 days of Navratri, different bhog is offered to the mother. Also, to please Goddess Durga, her devotees wear colorful clothes and worship her. Just as every single day of Navratri is dedicated to a different goddess, in the same way, each goddess's favorite food is different, as well as the colors used to please them are also different.
