According to the scriptures, Tulsi leaves cannot be plucked regularly. There is a fixed day and mantra to break it. Do not pluck a Tulsi leaf even on the day of Ekadashi. Tulsi is very dear to Lord Vishnu. Tulsi leaves are offered to Lord Vishnu during Ekadashi fast. But on this day there is a special prohibition to break Tulsi.
#1. Breaking Tulsi leaves after sunset brings bad luck in the house. Therefore, never pluck Tulsi after sunset.

1. Benefits of having Tulsi in the house
It has been told in the Puranas that in the house where Tulsi is worshiped every day, the grace of Goddess Lakshmi remains there. There is always positivity in such a house and people are also less sick. It has been written even in Skanda Purana that Yamraj does not enter the house where there is Tulsi. Applying tilak on the soil of Tulsi everyday increases the speed and health.
2.Know the importance of Tulsi Manjari
It has been told in the scriptures that if Manjari comes on Tulsi, then it should be broken and offered to Lord Vishnu. Tulsi is also pleased by doing this. Because Tulsi's Manjari is considered more than all flowers. But keep in mind that it is also necessary to keep the leaves while plucking the manjari. Salvation is attained by offering Manjari to Lord Vishnu.
3. Tulsi does not get stale for so many days
According to the scriptures, if you are worshiping Shaligram, then Tulsi can be broken even on prohibited dates. Basil leaves do not go rancid for seven days. If you do not have fresh leaves, then stale leaves can be used anytime by washing them with Ganges water. At the same time, worship should always be done with fallen basil leaves.
4. Do not break Tulsi Dal like this
It has been told in the scriptures that Tulsi leaves should not be broken without bathing or with unclean hands, such leaves are not accepted by God in worship. Tulsi should never be used with a knife, scissors or nails. Not plucking every single leaf of Tulsi, but the front part along with the leaves should be broken.
6. Do not break Tulsi Dal at this time
Tulsi should not be broken on the day of Sankranti and when someone is born in the house and until the naming is done. At the same time, when someone dies, from that day till the thirteenth, the basil leaf should not be broken. At the same time, breaking Tulsi Dal is prohibited even during sunrise and sunset.
7. Do not break these dates Tulsi Dal
It has been told in the scriptures that Tulsi Dal should not be broken into these two yogas, Vaidhriti and Vyatipat. On the other hand, Sunday, Tuesday and Friday should not be broken. Ekadashi, Dwadashi Tithi, Amavasya and Poornima should not be broken on these dates.
